Title I

What is Title I?

Title I is a federally funded program to assist in the academic achievement of students. Eastern Greene Elementary is a School-wide Title I program, ensuring all students receive essential instruction in reading and math. Students are assessed on their academic skills multiple times a year using the NWEA MAP Fluency. This assessment allows educators to design curriculum to best meet the needs of each student. Students requiring additional support to reach academic success are eligible for Title I services. These services may include, but not limited to: attending WIN time, working in small groups, receiving individual instruction, continued progress monitoring of skills, continual support throughout all academic areas, and encouraged parental involvement to ensure the student’s academic success

What does Title I provide for my student?

Provides specific and explicit Language Arts and Math lessons taught in small groups to reinforce core curriculum and promote student growth
Provides WIN (What I Need) time built into the daily schedule to support students at their various ability levels
Provides school-wide resources and technology in classrooms.
Encourages parental involvement throughout the year
Funds MobyMax online learning (available at home and school)
Promotes STEM and Literacy Family Nights
Encourages a school wide Positive Growth Mindset, (Do the Right Thing, Treat People Right!)

How can I be involved in Title I?

Parents can serve on School-wide planning committees.
Parents can volunteer to work with small groups on academic skills.
Parents can join PTO.
Parents can participate in creating and attending the Title I STEM / Literacy Family Nights.
